Who am I?
Journalists and writers must be like a Swiss army knife, meaning they must have many tools and skills to assist them in the future. This is what I have strived to do throughout my college journey.
In pursuit of becoming a journalist or copy editor for media or publishing, I have worked in various positions to build a skillset worthy of any reputable news organization. My proudest position is my current one as News & Culture Director at KTSW 89.9. In this role, I manage and schedule my team of editors, reporters, and writers while continuing to edit, report and write myself. I also worked as an Editorial Intern with BetterWork Media Group. In this role, I continued growing my skills with WordPress, interviewing, editing and more. Nonetheless, I have experience in photography, illustration, peer-reviewing, audio editing and more through my other positions and courses from high school to now. Next up for me is graduation through TXST's School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the TXST Honors College in May 2024! I will be earning my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Peace and Social Justice Studies. Currently, I am getting a head start on the infamous post-college job and fellowship hunt. I hope to work in journalism, editorial or media, and I have the skill set and experience to do so.
